Arya takes a big step forward in her training (Video)

What just went down in the House of Black and White, LLC was one of the most badass fights we’ve seen between the Waif and Arya yet. Arya’s come a long way since those first days of scrubbing floors and washing bodies. Now she’s telling poison by smell, and learning to fight blind. But it’s what happened next that’s a huge step forward in her training!

So what the hell just happened? It seems that Arya’s commitment to her loss of self is complete. One of the things we saw last season is that when she was being “No One,” Arya was only really paying lip service to the beliefs of the Faceless Men. The most telling moment was from the Season 5 finale, when she called Meryn Trant “no one” to degrade him. As far as she was concerned, to lose who you are was the worst thing in the world.

So what changed her mind? Is she just playing the game in a way she wasn’t before? Or is she really ready to be No One? Telling her story to the Waif as they fought seems to have let go of all those who she once wanted to kill. After all, it’s such a short little list after all…

So after answering the questions of the Waif and Jaqen H’ghar correctly, she is given the water of the pool to drink. As we all know, that is poison water they have given to countless souls before and taken their lives. But if the girl is truly No One…..she has nothing to fear.

She drinks…..

And she lives!

Creepy. Arya certainly has taken a step forward, and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
