WiC Weekly: May 8-14

It’s time for WiC Weekly, where we count down through the biggest Game of Thrones-related stories from the past week. We’re in the midst of a new season, so a lot of this week’s stories have to do with “Oathbreaker,” last Sunday’s episode. Let’s start with our recaps of the latest episode.

One of the more upsetting parts of last week’s episode was when Smalljon Umber dumped the head of Shaggydog, Rickon Stark’s direwolf, at the feet of Roose Bolton. Actor Art Parkinson sheds some light on that moment, although you might not wanna hear what he has to say.

The big finish to “Oathbreaker” involved Jon Snow finally deciding that enough was enough and quitting the Night’s Watch. Actor Kit Harington weighs in on that decision.

This season, Game of Thrones is taking advantage of its rich history and packing the episodes full of callbacks. We explore the ones in “Oathbreaker.”

Now that the Karstarks and Umbers have reentered the picture, will we see more Northern lords, and what might they do? This fan theory could shed some light on that.

Turning to tonight’s episode, “Book of the Stranger,” check out the collection of official photographs released by HBO.

We screepcap the hell out of the trailer for tonight’s episode and mine it for every nugget of information we can.

We now know the titles for almost all of the episodes this season. The titles for Episodes 6 and 7 have some interesting implications.

Finally, we’ve got a rarity: news about The Winds of Winter! George R.R. Martin dropped some hints about what to expect from the upcoming book…

…and gave us a whole new chapter to read besides!
