There’s are some exciting new SPOILERS coming out about Game of Thrones Season 7.

But before we get to that, let’s check in with filming news. As shooting continues in Seville, albeit on a delayed schedule thanks to heavy rains, the production keeps prepping for a major action scene near Malpartida, where it’ll shoot primarily at the watery Barrueco de Arriba. It’ll also spend a few days on Las Breñas, a nearby private estate.

El Periodico Extremadura brings us some firm dates. Shooting near Malpartida will begin on November 19. Before that, the production will shoot for a few days at Trujillo Castle, which is, like Malpartida, located in Cáceres province. That’s it pictured at the top of the page. Filming there will begin on November 14.

By all accounts, the battle will be a big deal. The production will be there for weeks, and the shoot will involve 500 extras, 100 horses, and several boats. The team is rehearsing down there now, and they’ve brought a smoke machine, important for any medieval fight. Take a look at some of the preparations underway.

As for who which characters will be there, we’ve seen two actors so far: Jerome Flynn (Bronn)…

…and James Faulkner (Randyll Tarly).

Faulkner was even kind enough to post a picture of himself on a horse. If he’s there rehearsing this early, he probably has a big roll in this battle.

With Bronn also in the mix, odds are goods that we’re looking at a Lannister-Tarly smackdown. Or, if earlier SPOILERS can be believed, it’ll be an ambush, with one army marching down a road, it’s wagons loaded with provisions gathered at a nearby castle (inserted with CGI), and another raiding the line.

Now, Watchers on the Wall gives us an idea of what castle that might be. According to its sources, in Game of Thrones Season 7, we’ll visit two important locales that have been much talked about but heretofore unseen. The first is Highgarden, the ancestral seat of House Tyrell.

Might Highgarden be the castle in the background of this ambush scene? With the Tyrells at war with the Lannisters, and Tyrell bannerman Randyll Tarly heavily involved in this battle, it seems likely. Trujillo Castle, pictured up top, could stand in for the place. The production will also be shooting at the Castillo de Almodóvar del Río, which also has a Highgarden-like look to it.

Watchers’ other announcement is more unexpected. According to the site, in Season 7, we will visit…Casterly Rock, the seat of House Lannister.

Casterly Rock. Game of Thrones home boxset, History and Lore/Screengrab.

What will the show do there? That’s hard to know. But after hearing about it from Tyrion and Cersei and Tywin and the rest for years, it’ll be fun to finally see the place up close.
