Fan-made Game of Thrones trailer imagines the final battle between the living and the dead

We still have to wait roughly six months until the premiere of Game of Thrones Season 7, but while we’re doing that, there are plenty of fan-made trailers to help with our withdrawals. This all-new trailer from Patrick G, “The Battle of Ice and Fire,” makes great use of the rousing Game of Thrones scores, scenes featuring the White Walkers, and even bits from the Blu-ray History and Lore videos to instill a sense of doom and gloom for the future.

The Night King’s theme, played throughout the trailer, works overtime to convince us of the terrifying threat represented by the White Walkers. And Patrick G deserves a lot of credit for the bits near the end, where he overlays snow effects on scenes from “Blood of My Blood,” “Battle of the Bastards,” and more. Until Season 8 rolls around, this is as close as we’re likely to get to seeing the ultimate battle between the dead and the living!

“The Battle of Ice and Fire” is only one of several great fan-made trailers out there. Beautifullytragic6’s “Reign,” which borrows from other movies and TV shows to construct its vision of Season 7, is also terrific.

This is a great piece of work, although it doesn’t quite inspire the cold fear of “The Battle of Ice and Fire.” We all know the real enemy is not armies of soldiers from rival Houses, but rather the darkness sweeping in from the far North. Let’s hope we get to see some of this in Season 7.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We’ll probably see a lot more of these fan-made creations before HBO releases an official trailer. So if you’re reading, HBO, you might as well just get ahead of the curve.
