As Game of Thrones fans, we might wish the cast and crew did nothing but film the next season all the time., but they get into all sorts of adventures when away from the set. These are their stories.
First up, Kristian Nairn (Hodor) is considering returning to a world of power plays, back stabbing and deal-making. No, Nairn isn’t returning to Game of Thrones (we think), but rather considering running for office in Northern Ireland. Nairn told the Belfast Telegraph that he is specifically frustrated over the failure of Northern Ireland to pass a marriage equality bill. “I really don’t understand why we’re the only little enclave of the country that can’t do it. I hope that we can come into line with the rest of Europe and the rest of the United Kingdom and Ireland.”
There’s so much other horrible s*** happening in the world at the minute, I think it’s the least of their worries. I think we need to get it sorted out as soon as possible. I don’t see why people are so concerned at what other people do behind closed doors or in their lives.
Nairn said he probably wouldn’t enter the political realm, if he does it at all, until later in life, although he wouldn’t be the first Hodor to do so. Sam Coleman, who played young Hodor in season 6, is currently running for Labour councillor in his native Sussex County, England. Could they be running mates for something one day? That’d be fun.
Elsewhere, we have a House Lannister/House Mormont team up, as Lena Headey (Cersei) and Iain Glen (Jorah) have begun filming a a drama about immigrants in the UK called The Flood, according to Screen Daily. Headey, who’s executive producing the film, plays an immigration officer tasked with determining the fate of a refugee who may not be as he appears. Glen, in a twist that Jorah might enjoy, plays Headey’s supervisor. Below is a shot of Glen and Headey on set.

Rejoice, for we have saved the best for last: Rory McCann, aka the Hound, is the drummer in a new music video from Scottish rock band Texas (weird, we know). Watch him pound the skins in the video for “Tell That Girl” below.
This isn’t the first time McCann has shown off his musical talents. He was part of a band called Thundersoup way back in the day, and thanks to Reddit, we have video of that as well. You’re welcome.
