Game of Thrones season 7 is fast approaching, and HBO is doing what it can to make sure everyone is properly hyped. It’s kicking off its #PrepareforWinter campaign this Monday, June fifth, exactly six weeks (minus a day) before the premiere of season 7 on July 16. Fans are encouraging people to stream a season of the show each week during the lead-up.

There’s more. Every Monday, HBO will post “winter and northern-themed trivia questions” on its Making Game of Thrones page. I’m not quite sure what that means, but I suspect most people reading this can answer the questions correctly. Fans can then take to the Game of Thrones Facebook and Twitter pages to share their answers, along with the hashtag #PrepareforWinter. Because any movement worth anything needs a hashtag. Otherwise it’s just people screaming fruitlessly into the internet.
According to HBO, “correct responses could earn you recognition in the realm.” Again, I have absolutely no idea what that means, but I’m interested in learning more.
