SDCC promises Game of Thrones panels, merchandise and interactive exhibits galore

If you’re attending San Diego Comic Con this year (first of all, lucky, lucky you!) be sure to check out all of the Game of Thrones fun to be had there this year: the panel with cast members! The merchandise! A Diner Pop-Up! And the “Winter Is Here” experience! I envy you so!

First and foremost, the Game of Thrones panel will be held in the coveted Hall H on Friday from 1:30 to 2:30 PT. Cast members, Sophie Turner, Alfie Allen, Gwendoline Christie, Jacob Anderson, Liam Cunningham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Conleth Hill, John Bradley, and Isaac Hempstead Wright, will attend and will be available for autographs afterwards. The SDCC Game of Thrones panel is always a pretty big deal but it’s especially significant this year for taking place while the season is still airing.

Xfinity will be featuring a TV-diner pop-up in which participants get to “immerse themselves in the settings of their favorite shows” on recreated sets from Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black and Luke Cage while eating meals made famous on their respective programs. For example, on the Game of Thrones set you can chow down on some of Hot Pie’s perfected wolf bread on a couch alongside season 3-sized Drogon, Viserion and Rhaegal.

The “Winter Is Here” experience – at 638 L street, in case you’re taking notes – will take participants through Winterfell, Dragonstone, King’s Landing and North of the Wall and include “individual, shareable touchpoints based on the world of Game of Thrones.”

By all social media accounts (see what I did there?) it looks pretty darn cool.

As ever, there will be plenty merchandise to check out. According to IGN, ThreeZero, Insight Editions, Funko and Titans Vinyl Figures, will be just a few of the vendors selling Game of Thrones-themed products.

For a comprehensive look at where everything Game of Thrones will be located, check out SDCC’s map.
