2. The Locations. Everything from a castle in the sky that has a hole of death to a torture chamber where Theon GreyJoy is turned into "Meat" by a sick and twisted Ramsay Snow. Every location is created on a grand scale and makes for a great battleground for the epic that is Game of Thrones.
3. Peter Dinklage aka Tyron Lannister. This guy is great. He
started the series as a dwarf Lannister with a hooker addiction, and
turned into someone who was the brave leader of an army defending King's
Landing. Not to mention that he just killed his father while he was
taking a dump on the privy. Peter Dinklage gets named as well, because
not only is Tyron a great character in his own right, but Peter Dinklage
does such a good job of making the audience relate to Tyron.
4.The Wildlings. They are an entire nation of outcasts that live
beyond the wall. The Wildlings become more interesting as Jon Snow is
forced to live with them and we learn more about them. Also, they have
Giants. Yea thats right Giants. One almost made it through the wall, but
was slain before it could make it.
5. Melisandre. So she is one crazy chick, but she is hot and a
redhead so she made the list. Seriously though, she is great character
because she is a bit of a mystery. You kind of think she is crazy with
some of her visions and fire talk. Then, she gives birth to a demon and
your like whoa this chick is the real deal.
6. The Weapons. The weapons in Game of Thrones are bad ass. They don't have the standard cookie cutter weapons that medieval shows use. The Dothraki use an Arakh, which is a curved bladed weapon, Ned Stark had a huge Broad Sword, and Arya has a small pointed blade she calls Needle. There are many more cool weapons including the spear the Red Viper used..(he should have made sure the mountain was dead.)
7. Arya. She is an interesting one. This little girl has seen so
many things and has met some crazy people along the way. She watched her
father get murdered, she shows up just after her Mother and Brother are
murdered. She traveled the countryside with a burnt-faced man called
the hound, and she is best friends with an Assassin. All this and she
can't even drink yet.
8. Daenerys Targaryen. She was sold to a Nomad King, Gave Birth
to Dragons in a fire, Conquered a few kingdoms with a freed-slave army,
and yea, she has Dragons. Not to mention that she is pretty good looking
and seems like she is doing her best to be a fair Queen for the nations
she has liberated.
9. White Walkers. These guys are still kind of a mystery in the
grand scheme of things. They are an Undead army that are in the show
just enough to make you wonder when they are gonna launch an attack of
their own.
10. The Story Itself. What can be said about this story other
than it is top notch. We are always constantly trying to figure what is
gonna happen next (unless you read the books), and as soon we think we
know what is coming someone dies that we thought was the main character
of the show (I know I didn't see Ned Stark dying in season 1). We are
always meeting new people that live in the world of Westeros and are
always taken to new places that have a connection to the characters in
the story.
