With filming set to begin tomorrow for Game of Thrones Season 7 in Old Town Cáceres, streets are shut down and locals are dealing as best they can. According to Hoy.es,

Specifically, Tuesday, day 13, will be affected the Piazza Santa Maria in the confluence with the street shops, where the series Still Star Crossed recorded in late-night hours (from 18.00). On Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th affected areas with access restrictions will be between the Adarve, Arco de la Estrella, Calle Arco de la Estrella, Plaza de Santa Maria, Plaza de los Golfines, Plaza de San Jorge, Cuesta Company, San Mateo and square of the vanes. Both days the city recorded in the series Game of Thrones.

There are a few pictures of the stillness of the sets as we wait for the actors and bustle of extras to arrive.

Funny that they manage to make the different cities of Spain and Croatia look the same, no matter where they are. Girona looked like this last year. Dubrovnik looked like this every season. It’s a real feat by the production that we don’t realize on screen how they’ve moved cities.

According to El Periodico Extremadura:

They have transformed the square of the vanes in a kind of market with stalls of bread and a small tavern, the slope of the Company is covered by awnings, straw and sand on the floor and have covered masterfully statue of San Pedro Alcantara in the Cathedral of Santa Maria. However, predictably, to give life to King’s Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms, one of the most emblematic places in the series.

(Roughly translated: I arrived yesterday in Caceres to find that are recording Game of Thrones.)

(Roughly translated: We have rumors that will be King’s Landing in Game of Thrones.)

More as it comes.
