Funnies: Jeor Mormont promotes financial responsibility, new Power Hour episode, and more

Okay, let’s take a quick break from the constant talk of the new season 7 promo and have some laughs. First up, sketch comedy group Practical Folks has posted another episode in their ongoing Game of Thrones parody series, Power Hour, where Cersei and Littlefinger host a public access show from King’s Landing. Sounds plausible to me.

This time, Melisandre drops by to tell the world about the secret to her youthful glow.

I love the awkward moment with Littlefinger at the end, and continue to be impressed with the book knowledge of the folks who made this — the bit about a giant pack of wolves near the God’s Eye shows they know their stuff.

We wrote up the last two episodes here. I don’t know how long this series will continue, I’m in no rush for it to end.

Next, we stumbled across an old commercial for the Bank of Scotland where James Cosmo (Lord Commander Jeor Mormont) advises a young man on how to best tackle the financial decisions in his life…dressed as his Game of Thrones character…for no apparent reason. It’s one of the more random uses of the show we’ve seen to hawk products. Enjoy!

This bit isn’t exactly funny, but did you know that Cosplay Melee, a reality show on the SyFy network where cosplay enthusiasts compete to create the best outfits, recently did a Game of Thrones theme episode? Well, now you do. Here’s a snippet:

In the end, it’s Emily, who made an outfit based on a flail, who walked away with the win.

And I know we said we were taking a break from promo talk, but let’s just do one thing. The Pixel Factor noticed something about the new promo that few others have.

We knew Ed Sheeran was going to be in season 7, but we didn’t know he’d be the fourth main contender for the crown. Game on.
