HBO released yet another clip from the “Eastwatch”-focused The Game Revealed, the seven-part documentary series about season seven. HBO subscribers can watch the entire thing, while the remaining fans must content themselves with snippets like this one, which is all about Randyll and Dickon Tarly’s blazing farewell from Game of Thrones.
Nerdist exclusively divulged this clip, which gets into the technical aspects of how the Tarlys’ deaths were accomplished — with James Faulkner and Tom Hopper pantomiming dragon-induced immolation, brave stuntmen catching on fire while wearing silly grimacing masks, and truly horrifying scorched dummies that actually turn into dust.
I don’t know about you guys, but I was sure the bodies turning into dust were CGI. Seeing them disintegrate in reality make them even more breathtaking. Thankfully, they were still dummies; no Faulkners or Hoppers were harmed in the making of the scene.
