Diageo and HBO team up to produce Game of Thrones-themed whiskeys

JohnnieWalker

For those hoping to celebrate their enthusiasm for Game of Thrones with stronger stuff than Ommegang Brewery’s (delicious) Royal Reserve Collection, HBO and Diageo, the world’s largest producer of spirits, are excited to announce a Game of Thrones-themed collection that will hit stores this autumn.

In celebration of the final season of Game of Thrones, Diageo and HBO have collaborated to produce a collection of Game of Thrones-themed single malts as well as a wonderfully punny Johnnie Walker scotch whiskey, White Walker (I mean, what else do you name a Johnnie Walker product in a collaboration like this? Johnnie Snow, I suppose).

The blend was created by whisky specialist George Harper along with a small team at Johnnie Walker. At the heart of this new, innovative blend are single malts from Cardhu and Clynelish in Scotland. It contains notes of caramelized sugar and vanilla, fresh red berries with a touch of orchard fruit and is best served (wait for it …) chilled.

Johnnie Walker’s White Walker will be will be available nationwide starting October 2018 wherever fine spirits are sold.

Each of the eight single malts in the collection have been named after Westeros houses and will be available nationwide starting fall 2018 wherever fine spirits are sold. Suggested retail pricing is included below.

“We knew there was fan appetite for a Game of Thrones whisky and once we saw Diageo’s vision for a way to collaborate together we knew the idea was perfect and the time was now,” said Jeff Peters, Vice President, Licensing & Retail at HBO. “From the beginning, they understood that we wanted to create something special, and they’ve accomplished that with both White Walker by Johnnie Walker and the single malt collection.
