Well, we’ve a lot of “lasts” in recent months with Game of Thrones coming to an end: last Twitter roundups, last episode postmortems, etc, and we’ll add another to the list in the form of last Emmy nominations. The 2019 Emmy nominations were made this morning and we have them all rounded up for you to peruse, and Thrones landed a record-breaking 32 nods — the most for a TV show in a single year!

There were a lot of, uh, differing opinions on the writing (and here and there on directing) of Season 8, but the world’s most popular show didn’t get there on writing and directing alone — the acting was always phenomenal, and behind-the-scenes work on special effects, score, production design, costuming and more was absolutely crucial to Thrones‘ success.
