Secretlab makes the best gaming chairs on the market. That’s no secret. Their award-winning, ergonomically designed creations are a dream for those of us who spend long days in our chairs and want something special that will last. Now, just in time for the first season of House of the Dragon, Secretlab has announced a new addition to their Game of Thrones collection: the new TITAN Evo 2022 House of the Dragon Edition, celebrating the GoT prequel. Is the newest chair up to par with their previous releases? Let’s find out.
It’s apparent from the moment that you open the box that the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 House of the Dragon Edition is absolutely beautiful, crafted with care and top-level quality materials. The backrest’s black dragon scale detailing on the sides feels rich to the touch and true to House Targaryen. The famous dragon sigil embroidered on the front and back in red and white is even more striking in person than in appears in pictures, and so well done; I always spot loose or messy embroidery, and this one is perfect. The House of the Dragon logo pops brightly in white beneath the dragon, as well. The small dragon sigil on the front is also nicely handled. Everything about the TITAN Evo 2022 House of the Dragon Edition feels luxurious.
The chair comes with a magnetic pillow, optional to set aside if you don’t want it, easy to pop onto the backrest if you do. The magnetic nature of the pillow and the armrests make it much simpler for the chair to be cleaned. It also features adjustable lumbar support and 4D adjustable armrests.
Those technical details are good to know, but it all comes down to the sensory experience, in the end. When you sit down in it, how does it feel? To quote my gamer son, who took over the chair immediately, “This is the best chair I’ve ever sat in, in my life.”
It really is.
Pre-orders are open now, with the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 House of the Dragon Edition arriving in late November. The chair is available in sizes Small, Regular and XL, in extremely limited quantities.
Some practical details for the curious-
Assembly time: 1 and 1/2 episodes of Canada’s Drag Race Season 3 (about 90 mins, probably a lot faster if you’re experienced, more tool-oriented and less likely to get distracted by lipsyncs). It was straightforward, featuring clean and simple directions, very few screws to deal with, easily snapped on magnetic covers, and well-made materials that presented no nasty surprises or complications.
People required: 1 or 2 depending on your upper body strength. In my case, it required an assist with the hoisting in the final couple steps- the chair is quite heavy and not easy to lift. Most of the assembling, I did it solo without any issues.
The Value: The TITAN Evo 2022 House of the Dragon is one of the pricier options for a chair, but Secretlab chairs last much longer than your average desk chair picked up from an office supply store, due to their incredible quality. Pricing details available at the site.
