The season eight premiere is but a month away and that means we’ll be getting more and more details about the final six Game of Thrones episodes. We’re not yet at the exciting phase of speculating about what the episode titles could possibly mean, but HBO have just released the running times for the first two episodes!
HBO recently updated their schedule to include the length for the first few episodes, and it is about what we expected, though perhaps on the short side:
Back on January, we got a rough idea of the running time for each episode from the French TV network that airs the show: the first two episodes would be about an hour long, while the final four would be around 80 minutes. Though the schedule largely corroborates this for now, the first episode, at 54 minutes, falls a bit short of being “an hour long.” Thankfully, the other one, at 58, is just what we expected.
Personally, I’m most curious how the other episodes will pan out in terms of length, as those four were the ones described as being of unusual length. The first two essentially fit in the one hour slot, but how will long will the rest of them be exactly? Do you think they’ll be about 80 minutes each in average but with great individual divergences, or actually 80 minutes each? Or do you believe they’ll be shorter or even longer, after all?
H/t to EW for picking this up before we noticed it!
