Sophie Turner Confirms That Cast Has Game of Thrones Season 7 Scripts

As Game of Thrones reaches the final years of production, with shorter seasons, delayed filming schedules and simply less of everything, those of us who are used to this being a year round cycle have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms. But there is light in a dark place this week. It may be almost two months later that we’re used to, but the first signs that production for Season 7 is revving up have arrived.

This week, while attending Variety‘s Power of Young Hollywood event, Sophie Turner let slip that she’s got the Game of Thrones Season 7 scripts. That means that most of the cast probably does, though only cast members at Turner’s level get the whole script. Many of the secondary characters only get their scenes, in order to keep spoilers better under wraps.

On the subject of the show coming to an end, Turner admitted to Variety that the surviving cast is very sad.

“We kinda always knew it would be seven or eight seasons. It’s really sad. It’s really uncomfortable to think about my life without ‘Game of Thrones.’ Not only has it been like a family — going to see a family every summer — but it’s also been a safety net. When I finish this I don’t actually know what’s going to happen. I might slip into a deep, deep depression because I won’t know what to do with myself. It’s going to be very strange. I feel people are going to miss it dearly.”

Yes, the TV show ending will be sad. But The Winds of Winter seems no closer to being done. And A Dream of Spring is most likely still years and year away. We can continue to wait for the next book to see how Martin’s version of the story veers from what we see on screen.
