At the end of the Season 6 trailer, there’s a brief scene in which Davos Seaworth, standing near Jon Snow’s body in Castle Black, draws Longclaw, Jon Snow’s sword. A trio of Night’s Watchmen draw their own weapons, and we’ve been assuming that Davos is about to throw down with them.
We were wrong. A fuller version of that scene aired on Conan during Liam Cunningham’s recent visit to the show. Check it out below. The clip starts at 1:49.
Okay, then!
So it seems that Davos and the Night’s Watch are cooperating, at least for the moment. He is a guest at Castle Black, after all. Also, it’s good to see that Ghost is, indeed, alive and well.
The real question from this clip is: what’s behind that door? Whatever it is, everyone seems scared of and wants to kill it. Did they manage to trap a wight in that room? Maybe it’s Melisandre, whom everyone has grown afraid of? I’m betting this is from early on in the season (note that Jon Snow’s dead body is still there), so hopefully we won’t have to wait until long after the April 24 premiere to find out.
As for Cunningham’s interview, the actor has mentioned that George R.R. Martin once told him a secret about the series before. We’re no closer to finding out what it is, but if you have any ideas, feel free to talk about them.
