Before and after yesterday’s panel at San Diego Comic Con, the cast of Game of Thrones was busy chatting away with reporters, and there’s a new crop of video interviews to enjoy this week in addition to the panel.
First up, Iwan Rheon talks to Access Hollywood about his end in season 6. He says he’s pleased with Ramsay’s death, and appreciates its “sense of irony.” He discusses filming the Battle of the Bastards, the Emmy news, and losing his TV-dad this year.
Liam Cunningham jokes about his lack of Emmy nods, and discusses his long days on the Battle of the Bastards, and whether he thinks Davos and Melisandre will ever meet again. The actor says the show starts up again in five weeks time.
At the Hall of Faces Experience, Cunningham discusses the Tormund-Davos buddyship and his own reaction to the season finale, with Cersei, Lyanna Mormont and the King in the North.
Isaac Hempstead Wright speculates on what will happen when Bran reaches the Wall with the Night King’s mark on him.
John Bradley discusses Sam’s taking of Heartsbane, the Tarly family sword- “His sword by birthright,” as John calls it. He says they’re “expecting scripts…any day now..
John also plays a rounds of Game of Thrones “Wed Dead Bed” with Clevver News:
Speaking to IGN, John discusses heading into season 7, with Sam in Oldtown. “He’s not there for a holiday,” he mentions. The actor speculates on Sam’s purpose in the south, wondering if he’ll find “some kind of a clue to Jon’s background.” As for ambitions, John says Sam is willing to stay in the background and wouldn’t want the Iron Throne
Bradley hangs out with director Kevin Smith and chats about his new movie Traders and killing White Walkers:
Nathalie Emmanuel discusses filming the boat scene in Belfast, the Emmy news, and how she thinks the characters will react to Jon being a Targaryen.
Sophie Turner discusses the Emmy news, how she thinks Sansa would handle the Lyanna-as mom news, and the look Littlefinger and Sansa shared at the end of season 6. She talks about the Sansa and Jon relationship, saying “I would like it to develop in a positive way,” but that Sansa may have inherited some of her mother’s views.
Talking to Entertainment Tonight, Sophie discusses the saddest GoT deaths:
Kristian Nairn discusses the widespread love of Hodor, and his post-Hold the Door experience, seeing his face on elevator buttons and encountering Hodoorstops.
Isaac Hempstead Wright and Liam Cunningham talk to TVLine about the delayed season 7 start, their longevity on Game of Thrones, becoming the Three-Eyed Raven, and the shock of finding out characters are being killed.
