Not long ago, HBO uploaded a video featuring behind-the-scenes footage from season 7. It was called A Story of Cloth, and it spotlighted the work of costume designer Michele Clapton, who’s worked on the show since the beginning.
Today, the teases continue. HBO Nordic uploaded a video spotlighting some of the many locations where the production filmed Game of Thrones season 7, with a focus on filming in Iceland and Los Barruecos in Spain.
Now, the bad news is that this video may not be available to watch in your country. However…
…Moviestar also uploaded a version to Twitter. It features a Spanish voiceover, but you can watch it to your heart’s content.

Basically, everybody’s talking about how impressive the locations are. The show shoots the bulk of its material in and around Belfast, Northern Ireland, but Game of Thrones wouldn’t be what it is without these trips to other countries.
Redditor EveryFckngChicken uploaded a bunch of screenshots from the video, and we took a few of our own. Let’s see what we can see.
First up, Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane) hanging out in Iceland, with a rope and an axe.
Traditionally, the Game of Thrones production has used Iceland to stand in for areas beyond the Wall. What business does Tormund have up there?
A few more shots of Iceland, including a group of people mulling around the snowy plain and shoot in what looks like an icy cave.
Peter Dinklage looks up in wonder at something involving a green screen. Who wants to bet there are dragons just out of frame?
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) was interviewed on set at Los Barruecos (you can click here to find out what he filmed there, but beware of spoilers).
It looks like Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) was in the area, too.
Below, extras playing soldiers mill about Los Barruecos, followed by what look like crew members with smoke machines.
A thick cloud of smoke obscures the sun:
We can’t help but look at that and think of the recent report that the production set a record number of people on fire during season 7.
There are also a couple of shots from Italica, where the show filmed an important scene set later in the season.
Jerome Flynn (Bronn) shot some of his interview footage here.
Finally, there’s plenty of shots from some of the Spanish beachfront locations where the production filmed scenes at Dragonstone. Nice place to work if you can swing it.
The above pictures looks like a take of the shot from the season 7 trailer where Daenerys, who’s presumably just arrived on Dragonstone, takes a moment to appreciate the fact that she’s finally in Westeros by kneeling down and touching the sand.
I’m not quite sure where this shot of Daenerys, Missandei, Grey Worm, and Varys walking in formation was taken, but it looks pretty cool:
Take us out, Grey Worm.
