Hold your (dark) horses everyone! Dark Horse Deluxe and HBO have joined forces with a new line of Game of Thrones merch that was recently presented at Toy Fair 2018 in New York City. There are a nice variety of products to be unveiled, from a jigsaw puzzle, to a Targaryen throne replica, to even a bookend!
Here we find ourselves with the gorgeously realized Dragonstone throne on which Daenerys proudly sits. I’m not a replica guy, but dang that’s pretty to look at.
This is what the Dragonstone gate would look like if it were stylized for a bookend. For those under the age of 30, a bookend keeps a row of books upright on a shelf and is frequently designed (like above) to be part of the bookshelf’s aesthetic. For those under the age of 20, a book is what a kindle and an iPad used to look like.
Lastly we have a puzzle. Once a year or so, I get a new puzzle and join Puzzle Club for a week while I hammer away at whatever art I’ve gotten. Just ask my wall, which currently hangs two completed puzzles; maybe I’ll make this Game of Thrones special my 2018 wall addition!
Coming up soon will be Daenerys Targaryen’s Map Markers from season 7, including Houses Targaryen, Stark, Lannister, and Greyjoy along with the Unsullied, and the Dothraki. Can’t wait to get our hands on those pics and see what’s next!
