Filming Leftovers: Shots Surface from October Filming in Ireland

The Game of Thrones Season 6 wrap party was already two days ago, but with two more days of shooting, the show only fully wrapped last night. But that doesn’t mean we’re done seeing pictures from filming and spoilers. With the excitement ramping up, and the first of the cast interviews starting to hype the new season already out, it’s not surprisingly that we have a few extra shots from earlier days now hitting the web.

One of the major parts of filming this season was the two months spent in Saintfield, creating a major battle. This was a shoot that required hundreds and hundreds of extras. 500-600 according to the following tweet.

(That last bit is the date, being October 7th, not that this is tweet seven of ten.)

The same chef apparently did catering for the show more than once, and in more than one location. Another large battle set with large amounts of extras filming for battle was in Banbridge, where the Tully was set up. Except one picture isn’t of those tent laden scenes. Instead…

Yes, that first shot would be a boat. Not all that surprising, considering that the Tully homestead is set along a large river. But though there were rumors than the boat–a set piece that resides in one of Titanic Studio’s satellite locations was pictured several times in reports, though exactly what they were filming aboard he boat was up for debate. (There is only one boat and it has stood in for every ship set from Season 2’s Battle of Blackwater to Arya’s leaving Westeros) To see it therefore pictured here in Banbridge tells us that at least one scene in Riverrun will be on a boat.
