March 2000: Dundalk, Maryland: Palczynski Hostage Standoff Ends

A tense hostage standoff continues on Saturday morning near Baltimore in the U-S.

The suspect, Joseph Palczynski, is thought to be holding at least three people hostage.

The same man is also accused of previously kidnapping his girlfriend and killing four people.

Police believe he has at least three firearms.

On Saturday, police continued to maintain contact with their suspect, Joseph Palczynski.

It’s believed Palczynski is inside, holding at least three people hostage.

The home he’s in belongs to relatives of his former girlfriend, Tracy Whitehead, and Palczynski is accused of kidnapping Whitehead briefly last week.

So how did the stand-off begin? It’s thought Palczynski shot his way into a home and took hostages on Friday.

Police say Palczynski fired shots to break locks at the home belonging to a relative of his former girlfriend Tracy Whitehead.

One of Whitehead’s cousins says he thinks the woman’s mother, stepfather and her 12-year-old brother are in the home.
