The Mountain hands out flowers to strangers on Iceland’s National Women’s Day

It’s International Women’s Day today, and Game of Thrones stars like Emilia Clarke and Sophie Turner are honoring it by writing about their experiences as women and people. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who’s played Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane on Game of Thrones since season 4, had his own way of celebrating: he went to a mall in Iceland and handed out flowers and vodka to shoppers.

To be fair, Björnsson wasn’t doing this for International Women’s Day. He was doing it for Iceland National Women’s Day, which took place a couple weeks back. But the sentiment is the same. It’s hard to think of Björnsson crushes Oberyn Martell’s head with his bare hands when you see him being a sweetie to delighted strangers.

Also to be fair, there may be a self-promotional component to Björnsson’s generosity. He’s handing out Icelandic Mountain Vodka in the video above, and we should note that he’s done a few commercials for that product. Still, it’s hard to turn down free flowers and booze.
