Game of Thrones collectible figurines live or die in the details. Take Todd McFarlane’s McFarlane Toys, for instance. That manufacturer takes a professional approach to the people and places of Westeros and turns out toys that are second to none.
Unfortunately, toy manufacturer Eaglemoss isn’t enjoying the success of McFarlane Toys, as fans have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure over the company’s first offering of figurines based on characters from HBO’s Game of Thrones. The Sun got the scoop on the angry outpouring from the disgruntled fans:
The game of thrones eaglemoss collectables look absolutely terrible, they need to employ people who can paint properly

Paul isn’t very happy, perhaps because Eaglemoss’ Arya looks like a melted candle, and Needle looks like a full on longsword.
Omg the Eaglemoss @GameOfThrones model set looks awful!!
Don’t think I’ll bother, looks cheap tbh— Jo Cole (@FBM_Warrior) March 9, 2016
If I had spent money on this character I would be very upset, as well. And take a look at the company’s take on Jon Snow, which looks like a weird cross between Jaimie Alexander from Blindspot and a scared little girl on the playground playing with stick swords. And is that blonde facial hair?
According to The Sun, Eaglemoss had this to say about the situation: “We are dedicated to producing high-quality, highly detailed figurines and collectables with thousands of very satisfied customers to date.” Yeah, okay. I’ve seen better Play-Doh creations from my two-year old nephew, and he barely understands shapes.
If you’d like to examine more of these figurines, Eaglemoss has released 10 in total: Jon Snow, Arya Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, the Hound, Littlefinger, Cersei Lannister, Grey Worm, Brienne of Tarth, and a White Walker.
Maybe I’m biased by the quality of toys from McFarlane and Threezero, but the Eaglemoss figures just don’t pass the eye-test for me. They aren’t detailed don’t look are worth the time or money. Hopefully, the company will see this feedback and make some changes.
