A look at the extras on the Game of Thrones Season 6 boxset, dropping November 15

It’s a month before the holiday giving season kicks off, and HBO has the Game of Thrones fan in your life covered. The DVD and Blu-Ray home boxsets of Game of Thrones Season 6 land in stores on November 15. As usual, these babies are packed to the gills with all sorts of extras that will satisfy even the most hardcore Thrones-lover. Season 6 was one of the most stunning years of the show yet, and the boxset looks to crank it up to 11.

The Season 6 set contains a whopping 14 commentaries audio commentaries from cast and crew members, more than ever before. Obviously, some episodes have more commentaries than others, with guests ranging from “Battle of the Bastards” director Miguel Sapochnik, directors of photography, special effects experts, and stars like Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei), and many more. There are also four deleted scenes that will hopefully flesh out some of our favorite moments.

Speaking of favorite moments, there are specific behind-the-scenes featurettes that spotlight the peaks of Season 6. For example, we get a more in depth look at the Battle of the Bastards and a look at what went into creating Vaes Dothrak before Dany burned it to the ground.

And last, but certainly not least, we have the return of the Histories and Lore series. These animated videos are narrated by the series’ stars and delve into greater detail on aspects of history the show might have skimmed over. Want to know more about the War of the Ninepenny Kings, in which Brynden “the Blackfish” Tully fought alongside Tywin Lannister and the Mad King Aerys? That’s the kind of deep dive you’ll get from these videos.
