The first History and Lore short from the Game of Thrones Season 6 boxset has been released and it focuses on “The Children of the Forest vs. the First Men.”
Probably one of the most fascinating glimpses into the past, other than the shots of Jaime’s facing down the Md King in his throne room back in the day, the original war between the Children of the Forest and the First Men was the most intriguing backstory that the show brushed past in the 10 hours it had allotted last season. Now, the box set is taking a deep dive into that backstory.
The History and Lore segments tta come in every blu-ray box set are, in my opinion, the big argument for getting the blu ray versions. One of the things about Westeros is the richness of the tapestry of the past, and these animated telling of those histories are the closest the production can get to giving the show only fans a glimpse of what book readers get from the page.
