If you follow Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire closely, it probably hasn’t escaped your notice that George R.R. Martin has been having a lot fun on his Twitter account lately. Too much fun? You be the judge:
So, my publishers say I have to start trying to appeal to a younger audience… pic.twitter.com/T3BZuw6iqB

That is not an image I expected to see in my lifetime.
It’s rare for Martin to use his Twitter for anything other than links to posts on his Not a Blog, so his last couple of tweets have fans interested. Like, really interested — as of this writing, a Reddit thread dedicated to the “Wazzzup” tweet has over 600 responses. Some people have even wondered if his accounts have been hacked, but Martin confirmed this wasn’t the case in the comments section of a post he wrote about the recent United Airlines scandal. (His opinion on the “airport cops” who dragged the passenger from his seat: “I don’t care if they were members of the Night’s Watch, they should be fired.”)
Anyway, if Martin is taking requests for old commercial to reenact in restaurants, he should do “Where’s the Beef” next.
In other news, sketch comedy group Practical Folks have made a couple new episodes of Power Hour, the show where Cersei and Littlefinger host a public access show. Today’s special guest: an amorous Oberyn Martell.
And the most recent episode includes a visit from Jon Snow himself.
Finally, Conleth Hill (Varys) appeared on British sitcom Peter Kay’s Car Share, showing a penchant for disguise even the Master of Whisperers would envy.

Yes, that’s Varys as a smurfette, or rather a girl named Elsie dressed as a smurfette for an office party. Either way, that’s another image I never expected to see.
