Video: Blacksmiths make a replica of Ice, Ned Stark’s Valyrian steel sword

AWE Me is a YouTube channel specializing is cosplay, props, and all things nerdy. Its signature program may be Man At Arms, where a team of blacksmiths, machinists, and other professionals recreate iconic weapons from film, TV, and videogames. Get a preview below:

Clearly, they are very serious about this work. Anyway, last week, the team uploaded a video where they made a replica of Ice, Ned Stark’s enormous Valyrian steel sword seen most prominently in Game of Thrones season 1. Watch below.

Getting to swing it around and bust open dummy zombie heads would must make all the work worth it.

Looks pretty badass, although obviously this isn’t the kind of thing you can do at home, not unless you have access to…I don’t even have the vocabulary necessary to describe these things. A bellows and giant tongs and an industrial furnace and such. Maybe that’s for the best. Replica swords are all fun and games until someone gets summarily executed.

This is isn’t the first time the team has tackled weapons from Game of Thrones. They’ve also forged Longclaw…

…Jaime Lannister’s sword…

…and Needle.

AWE Me isn’t just about weapons. They also have guides on how to make your own dragon egg prop…

…and an Iron Throne toilet.

Can we have Oathbreaker next?
